the French Revolution was very much a social and political revolution. The Industrial Revolution was a time when society changed a great deal as it related to various industries and
the emergence of powerful technology that would forever change the world. The French Revolution was the result of many disgruntled individuals in France who felt that they should be treated
better and have the possibility of achieving and possessing more rights in the society. With that in mind the following paper first examines the Industrial Revolution and then the French
Revolution. The paper then compares and contrasts the two. The Industrial Revolution While the Industrial Revolution brought changes in many areas,
such as agriculture, science, business, and banking, it was also a time that clearly influenced the population, the social world, in many different ways. One author notes, "The Industrial Revolution
brought with it an increase in population and urbanization, as well as new social classes. The increase in population was nothing short of dramatic" ((Rempel, 2007). Interestingly enough, while the
populations of such places as England and Germany and the United States seemed to increase, in France the population remained relatively the same after the 18th century (Rempel, 2007). However,
at the same time France was greatly affected by the Industrial Revolution as well. In the Industrial Revolution the there was also an increase in the food supply and in
