of jobs available in this economy, most of these jobs require an education. Our world is inundated with information and technology. Thanks to the Internet, information moves at
historically rapid speeds and what is news in one remote part of the world is news clear across the globe just minutes later. Certainly all this information at our fingertips
has influenced our world and our daily lives. People now have access to information which they never did before and that information comes to them more rapidly than ever
before. What this does is create an information society, where much of the goods and service which are produced are reliant on information. Therefore, it only stands
to reason that in order to be successful in the world today, one has to have the ability to understand this information, to access it quickly and to know and
understand how to apply that information. This is the challenge which will face todays generation. It used to be that men would graduate from high school then
often go to work at the local company or factory which was typically in their town. Then, after being hired, they would generally be trained to do a very
specific job - say adding a part on an assembly line - and then they would continue to do that job day in, day out for years, until finally retiring
from that company. Now naturally, this is a generalization but it was certainly typical of past generations. As far as the women went, most of them did not
work outside of the home. World War II changed the workplace dramatically. Now all of a sudden women went to work in record numbers and new kinds
