from about 445 B.C. to 425 B.C. (Net Ministries, 2001) but most of the events occur within a ten year span from 445 B.C. to 444 B.C. (Constable, 2007). The
historical aspect of this Book have been verified numerous times, thus, it becomes a lesson in history (Constable, 2007; Net Ministries, 2001). In fact, Clines (n.d.) said that this may
be the most important historical source in the entire Old Testament. The reason is that Nehemiahs Book was written while events were happening or very shortly after they happened (Clines,
n.d.). Adding to this is the fact that the events were written by the person who was directly involved in them (Clines, n.d.). Part of the importance and significance of
this Book is that Nehemiah was not a priest/Rabbi, he was a plan ordinary man who took on a task he believed was right to do. Nehemiah is a
continuation of Ezra and can be categorized into four major parts (Eastons Bible Dictionary, 1897). These are: the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem, the state of religion as practiced
by the Jews in Judah at the time, the increasing population of Jerusalem and the lists of officials and others, and the dedication of the wall and the reforms carried
out by Nehemiah in two sets, initially and then, upon his return (Eastons Bible Dictionary, 1897). The Book of Nehemiah informs the reader of the events that were transpiring between
the Jews and Persians at the time the document was written (Clines, n.d.). It also tells the reader what the general condition of the Judean society was at the time,
