its impacts, Ive made an effort to eat more local produce from local business owners. Even though Ive made this effort, a simple evaluation of what I eat suggests
that even these local purveyors are using and selling products from all over the world. Most mornings, I have a pretty standard breakfast that consists of coffee and
juice and a big piece of toast. I started buying my bread from a local baker and purchased raspberry jelly made locally. I also purchased honey produced in
the state and coffee roasted from a local business. My thought was that these efforts to change my diet would help to improve the local economy while also reducing
the impacts of transportation on the environment. At the same time, some of my most frequently used products, including coffee and sugar, travel a long way to get to
my home. The orange juice I drink is from Florida, and requires the use of fossil fuels for both the production process and the transportation of the product.
