where there are groups or teams there is the presence of psychodynamics impacting on organizational behaviour. This is a term used to describe "collective psychological behaviour" (Neumann, 1999).
When looking at the way this impacts on the behaviour patterns Gustave Le Bon theorized an individual joining would have to sacrifice a degree of their own individuality, this is
especially true when individuals are joining a large group (Le Bon, 2007). Le Bon has a very cynical view of groups and
the way that they impacted on the individual claiming that within a crowd an individual is only "a grain of sand amid other grains of sand, which the wind stirs
up at will" (Le Bon, 2007). As part of the study Le Bon argued that charismatic leaders had a potentially high level of influence over group; by connecting to the
emotional side of the individual Le Bon argues that it is possible for an individual leader to tapping into the unconscious or subconscious as well as the conscious mind in
order to influence the group. While it is possible the charismatic leader may also be a leader in the business and is able to use this leadership position to influence
and motivate in the interests of the business, the reality is that this may be a social development, and one of many employees. The influence may therefore be positive or
negative and an employer will want to leverage it in appositive direction, getting non formal leaders on side as well as ensuring that those who are able to exert an
