history books as one of the most devastating natural disasters in American history mostly because people - both lay and governmental alike - were ill-prepared for the magnitude of its
scope. While the most technologically advanced equipment and expert human input was utilized, it was still not enough to detect the calamity that resided within the storms wind surges,
gusts and overall intensity (Senkbeil et al, 2006). Only in hindsight has Andrew been fully evaluated - and appreciated - for the lessons it taught about unforeseen conditions and
disaster preparedness. III. PLAN FOR INVESTIGATION Databases to be utilized include InfoTrac, Elibrary and other scholarly catalogs; journals will include - but
