ONE SMALL STEP TOWARD EDUCATION REFORM Implementing cross-curricular activities is an element of education that is long overdue. Clearly, the methodology of contemporary teaching leaves much to be desired, inasmuch as there exists a vast differentiation with regard to academic access. "No longer should traditional courses provide the only means of learning and reinforcing concepts; schools need to seek out new avenues for learning and for the provision of resources" (Anonymous, 2002). Educators who utilize merely one method are missing out upon the bigger picture of learning: the vast diversity that comprises knowledge. Without this diversity, students do not gain the multifarious aspects of what they are being taught, often complaining that the subjects they are required to learn are boring. Together, the students "work toward a common goal" (Nath et al, 1996, p. 117) in a friendly, relaxed climate to overcome the fact that "traditional high school is an overly structured, age-segregated experience that just doesnt work for some students..."
