location and accessibility. If the centre is to help the target audience which is made up of those attending a collage, many are new immigrants, but there are also existing
and long term students. The careers centre needs to be located geographically so that there is easy access to the target audience. As this is a careers centre most
of the using the facility will be at a collage, and as such the centre should be located on the collage grounds. However, this alone will not be sufficient, the
centre also needs to be easily accessible and approachable. It may be tempting to build a separate block for this, but this will mean that students will have to make
an additional effort to visit the centre, and as such a separate building is not advisable. Other collages have sometimes attached these centres to the collage library. Due to the
nature of the centre used by many as a reference point. However this may also be inadvisable, as those who are most likely to benefit from the service may not
be familiar with the library area, especially where there are some language barriers. Therefore, the careers centre should be located near to common areas, such as near a common room,
but past is so there is easy access but not constant passing traffic. Once inside the careers centre should be clean and welcoming. Once we have a centre, that
