cruelty known to humanity. Jews were the victims of the Nazi regime and Hitlers plans for ultimate genocide throughout the war. They suffered the most horrendous realities that one could
even imagine at the hands of the Germans in many concentration camps. The following paper examines the possibilities that existed for Jews in this particular time. The Holocaust
and the Warsaw Ghetto When speaking of possibilities one does not often envision that Jews had any options, any possibilities in terms of dealing with the devastating realities. But, there
are many different stories concerning this time period as it involves the Jews. Clearly they rarely held any power but in some situations they did have the possibility of altering
their position. For example, there were people like Anne Frank and her family who had the option to go into hiding. While her family did not necessarily survive there were
others who did survive through hiding, something that can be seen through the work of Corrie Ten Boom in The Hiding Place. Some Jews could perhaps barter with guards to
be treated better than other Jews, proving they were willing to go against their own people. One story that offers up one scenario involves a man named Jerzy Bielecki
who was a Polish Catholic (Adler). He was in Auschwitz and he fell in love with a woman in the camps, Cyla Cybulska who was a Polish Jew (Adler). He
told her he would try to save her and slowly gathered together items, including pieces of a uniform, so that he could escape with her as his presumed prisoner (Adler).
They succeeded in escaping and he hid her with some people wherein they were ultimately separated for many years, reuniting when they were both in their 60s. Their story illustrates
