and rugged mountains (Anonymous, 2000). II. HABITAT Two hundred fifty miles comprise the typical habitat of just one adult grizzly bear. This home range is directly associated with
the amount of available food by which to sustain the individual bear, which sometimes dictates a much smaller area. Females maintain their home ranges too, however, theirs is inherently
smaller in size than their male counterparts. Both the male and female home ranges intersect at some point (Anonymous, 2000). III. FEEDING HABITS Not known to turn down
a meal of most any kind, grizzly bears are not picky eaters. Their menu consists of foliage, flesh and fruit, a vast diversity which helps to maintain the bears
existence. Included in the opportunistic and omnivorous animals long list is grasses, berries, roots, flowers, nuts, rodents, insects, fish, elk, moose, deer, antelope, carrion and even human food on
occasion. Their forty-two teeth enable them to break down a multitude of food choices. Integral to the areas available food is whether or not the bear is healthy,
its offspring will survive, population density, as well as issues relating to hibernation, lifespan and size. Grizzlies utilize their sharp claws to dig for food and tremendous shoulder muscles
to dominate over living prey (Anonymous, 2000). IV. SEASONAL ACTIVITIES Eating and sleeping serve to be the grizzly bears most essential seasonal activities. Wintertime finds them digging out
