them on the road and told them to tell the Apostles to meet Him in Galilee. The eleven disciples met Christ on the mountain in Galilee where Christ said His
last words to them. It has come to be know as the Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (NIV, Matthew 28:19). To understand the power of the Great Commission, we need to consider the verses that surround this
one. Matthew 28:18 reads: "Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" and Matthew 28:20 reads: "and teaching them
to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Christ begins by claiming His authority over everything. That
authority was given to Him by His Father. He concludes by telling the eleven disciples they must teach others what He has taught them and if they do, He will
be with them forever. This is a very strong promise. There are four primary verbs in these verses: Go, Make, Baptize. Teach. This is what Jesus Christ wants His
disciples to do. Dr. Gene Bunkowske wrote that when he consulted the original Greek, he found that the primary verb is disciple (Found, 2010). Thus, the Great Commission is to
make disciples by going, by baptizing and by teaching (Found, 2010). It does not mean that we have to go somewhere else, e.g., travel to distant lands. We can go
