This would serve to represent all people. In Hinduism none of the Gods has a wife, but they are all considered to have the Shakti, or power, of a woman within their body. The Gods are considered non-gendered and yet are both male and female at the same time. "The Mahadevas who live in the Third World cannot be likened to men and women who live on the earth" (Hinduism Today PG). These are considered to be of souls that are perfectly evolved and are neither one gender nor the other. The bodies themselves are not gendered, and are therefore not differentiated by the sexual specification, but being perfectly evolved they carry everything about them that is considered to be of both a man and a woman. These are considered to be pure beings made of Divine Consciousness which can be whatever they need them to be. If they are full of compassion and light, they are said to have the female power while if they are strong and powerful they have the male power. Hinduism states that it is not the physical gender that is important, it is the soul and how evolved the soul is that truly matters.
