There are many points of comparison between wars. This is certainly true of the Jacobin phase of the French Revolution and
Napoleonic Wars, World War I, and World War II. These wars share similarities but they also are distinctly different. Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of these three wars
is that each represented a radical change in the way warfare was conducted and on its impacts not just to those that fought and those that remained back home but
also to much of the world. Technological evolution was accompanied by a new way of approaching warfare as well. The French Revolution
is the first example that will be used to illustrate the thesis presented above. It can be considered, in fact, one of the greatest political and cultural transformations ever
experienced in Europe. France had, in fact, already experienced many changes prior to the outbreak of the revolution. These included internal changes and changes in its relationship with
other states. King Louis XVI had held the throne for some fifteen years. The country had persevered in the face of its defeat by the British and the
1763 Treaty of Paris. The revolution had a reverberating effect not just on France but on the world. In reality
