controlling. There are cross overs and leadership is needed, to look the different functions they may also be considered separately. Planning is
the initial stage of any project, the dictionary defines a plan as "to arrange a method or scheme beforehand for (any work, enterprise, or proceeding)" (Dictionary.com, 2009). This is a
stage with a focus on metal processes and thinking where the goal or objective needs to be recognized and established. The goal needs to be realistic within that organisation and
its core competences along with the available resources, or resources that may be obtained. The plan is not only the goals, but also the method by which these goals will
be reached, such as the steps to be followed and the time scale as well as budget or resources required at each stage and measurements to ensure the stage is
fully completed. The next function is the organisation. The planning may be undertaken by an individual or by a team, but it can be a purely academic exercise with
the gather and assimilation of information and the development of this with the known goals. Organisation is a more practical stage, defined "To put together into an orderly, functional, structured
whole" (Dictionary.com, 2009). Therefore, this is the function where there is the arrangement of the resources that are required. This includes ensuring the physical assets are acquired or available, but
