The criminal justice system often receives criticism for operating in isolation, or for the establishment of laws that are seen as disconnected from the
reality of everyday experiences; criticisms that question the very validity of the justice system. However, these criticisms do overlook one important fact: the criminal justice system actually does work in
coordination with a number of other facets of government, as well as local, state, and private organizations in the process of carrying out its operations. Through these interactions, the criminal
justice is in fact indirectly connected with virtually all elements of society, and is very much in tune with the reality of the experiences faced by many societal groups, such
as victims who are children. One case which makes this obvious is the manner in which the criminal justice system and the state foster care system interact with one another
in making determinations about the future of children who are brought into "the system". This paper shall give a broad and detailed overview of the social agency of the California
foster care system, and examine its interactions with the criminal justice system. This paragraph helps the student give a detailed history
