people dying of curable diseases because they are too poor to receive medical care. Something is wrong. In the face of modernization, one can see that the social structure has
not kept pace with a world that gets better and better with time. Capitalism has not quenched the thirst of third world children who are sold into slavery to support
their families, nor has capitalism adequately filled the needs of the struggling modern American family. It stands to reason that if capitalism, the predominate government structure in the world today,
has not resolved the problems of the majority of the world, then something else should. Some turn to Marxism. Indeed, communism has been seen as a panacea, a utopia, and
a way for all to be right with the world. Yet, Marxism and Neo-Marxism have essential flaws. First Marxism, which is a culmination of the ideas of Karl Marx
but really centers around communism, does have flaws. First, communism has never been successfully executed, although it has never been attempted in the way that Karl Marx had designed. Marx
did not see the authoritarian model as being appropriate and he did not see all the money going to the elite. In fact, he saw quite the opposite. Everyone would
be equal in his mind. Yet, most leaders who have embraced Marxism have seen it as a way to exercise their own desire for money and power. Still, Marxism also
follows a historical pathway. Marx saw the world as progressing in a certain way with his theory of historical materialism. Karl Marxs historical materialism embraced the concept that there is
