become integrated into our everyday lives but, probably more importantly, this challenge also exists because so many consider the Internet a great sociological experiment. Our views of this experiment
are dichotomous to say the least. The younger members of our society do not remember life without the Internet. To them it has always been there and life
without it is slightly unimaginable. To those that are slightly older, however, the Internet is still largely a mystical being whose function and intent are not very well understood.
Consequently, the views as to what is considered appropriate content for the Internet varies radically and that variance is often divided along the parameter of age. The variation
in the way we view the Internet and the ethical implications we associate with it is not quite that simplistic in all cases, however. There is also the battle
line between liberalism verses staunch conservatism that we must consider when we analyze the ethics of the Internet. The Internet now
touches practically every aspect of our lives. With it our culture has evolved. The Internet too has evolved, however. That evolution is particularly pronounced when we consider
that first network of computers called Arpanet, initially sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, which formed its backbone. The stakeholders in the Internet have, in fact, expanded considerably
