begin to realize that doing business on the Internet is just like doing business everywhere else. Along with that notion is the recognition that visual communication is key to the
future. With holograms and larger than life computer monitors, text messaging will become a thing of the past. It is simply too difficult. At the same, visual communication has enhanced
society, and this needs to be recognized. With computer telephones that can transmit pictures instantly and put on the web also in seconds, one has to wonder what the legalities
of the future will be. Will intellectual property rights be a hot issue as it is now, or will people throw up their hands and contend that it is just
not possible to control the Internet? Further, how will the changing technologies as they involve visual communication matter? Other questions loom inclusive of but not limited to the photographing of
people against their will. People were sued for making those Girls Gone Wild videos for example and not only that, but there are real privacy issues as it concerns cameras
in the parks and on the streets. Some people simply do not want to have cameras in public places, even if it means they will be safer. Such paradigms have
been used to control crime, but there are a myriad of legal issues when it comes to visual communication. These examples just scratch the surface. First, a look at visual
communication, its history and what it means is in order. The history of visual communication takes many forms. Visual communication has been used for centuries. From the time of
