Eisenhower again would try to align himself with the efforts of Truman. However, Eisenhower was willing to commit American troops to the project, something that went beyond anything that Truman had to offer ("Doctrines - The Eisenhower doctrine," 2010). In relying on premises contained in the Truman Doctrine, while extending options, Eisenhower added to the "level of American political doctrine" ("Doctrines - The Eisenhower doctrine," 2010). Eisenhower expanded the focus of the United States.
