doctors prescribe. For example, oral steroids used to treat acute episodes of asthma can over the course of time stunt growth. That is a concern to a parent, and while
that is a well established detriment of the drug, not all medications or illegal substances are as easily deciphered. Ecstasy is the drug of choice for many young people
today. With drinking ages rising, and clubs open to younger people without the alcohol, ecstasy has become a popular club drug for teens. The physical reactions to the drug
include loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, an increase in heart rate and blurred vision ("Ecstasy,"1997). The drug also increases blood pressure, induces muscle tension, faintness, chills, sweating and
tremors (1997). Appetite is decreased and sometimes insomnia results (1997). Convulsions and a loss of control are some of the serious effects of the drug (1997). Additionally, some of
the reactions to the substance have been reported to last from one to as long as 14 days after the drug had been ingested (1997). While ecstasy can last
in the body for many days, what are the long term effects of this dangerous substance? Some research on this subject has been done and some long term effects have
