reproductive autonomy, and the line between the two is indeed a thin one. It is important therefore to recognize that although assisted conception techniques have many benefits, they also
have a substantial impact on a womans reproductive autonomy, which creates significant issues which need to be addressed. The Effects of Assisted Conception on Womens Autonomy
In todays world, women have more choices than ever before in terms of conception assistance. Women who want a baby and are not able
to conceive traditionally are able to seek solutions from an ever-growing range of options, and indeed the contributions of these options have been powerful. Women who otherwise would not
have been able to conceive are having babies, and that alone is a powerful reminder of the importance and benefit of science.
Reproductive technologies also provide opportunity for women to seize control of their reproductive autonomy. Transitioning from not being able to conceive to having a baby via assisted conception
can be very empowering, and in many cases allows women to make self-directed choices in their lives. Assisted conception has allowed scores of women to experience motherhood whom otherwise
