novel that is based, somewhat, on facts. It is something of a mystery novel and something of a historic novel concerning WWII. The following paper provides a brief report of
the novel. The Eagle Has Landed This story is narrated in first person by an individual who bears the authors name and as such is designed to read
much like a journalists presentation of historical and witnessed events. This is the setting for the WWII novel that involves espionage and kidnapping, offering the reader a seemingly real story.
It should also be noted that apparently there is a great deal of truth in the novel, but that truth is never really revealed so that the reader is left
wondering about what is fact and what is fiction. The story involves numerous characters, people from all sides of the political fence, and focuses primarily on the attempt, on
the part of the German government, to kidnap Winston Churchill. The idea is first thought of and planned out by Himmler who feels that if they could kidnap Churchill they
could well use it for propaganda and further strengthen the Nazi regime as it was set against the German military. It would provide them great power and would be something
that Hitler would also approve of. The plans are laid out and numerous characters are involved in making the plans set off. One person is Joanna. She is a
Nazi agent who is also South African. She allows the people making the plan the information that Churchill will be in a specific, and quiet, location that would be perfect
for the kidnapping. There are other minor characters involved, many of whom will die in the attempts and the confusion that will ensue. But, another main character is Devlin. Devlin
