where the division is not quite as obvious. In fact, in the U.S., Spanish is an increasingly growing language, but many of the Hispanics who reside in America are working
at lower paying jobs. There are of course a few exceptions as there are people who make it in politics or in the entertainment fields, but by and large, there
is still a dichotomy that seemingly affirmative action has not fixed. In terms of the history of the United States, and the division of labor, there is first and foremost
slavery. The nation was founded on principles that allowed for freedom, except for slaves. Interestingly, there was debate about slavery during the Revolutionary War, but it would take another century
to pass, and another bloody battle, before black people were even considered human beings. For a time, they were only considered a fraction of a human being and even upon
gaining freedom, they were still not equal to a white man. The division of labor in society saw wealthy white people own black people early on. Fast forward to today,
and there are still illegal sweat shops employing illegal aliens. Not only is sweat shop work something that has attracted immigrants, but they are found in the homes of the
wealthy. Not too long ago, Supreme Court justice applicants were found to have immigrants in their employ, but failed to report the income to the IRS. It was something referred
to as Nanny-gate, but it does point to the problem in society of having a dichotomy in the workforce. While this division of labor always existed, it existed differently
through the different periods of time in U.S. history. For example, the time prior to the Civil War occurred between 1860 and 1865. After that, slaves were freed. Interestingly, the
