which possessed the Divine Name, or Jehovah as most people today would say, scratched into the amulet. There was also evidence of other text in another silver amulet, all of
which points to much historical significance of the find. The following paper examines what is, or can be, learned from the article "News from the Field: The Divine Name Found
in Jerusalem" by Gabriel Barkay. The Divine Name Found in Jerusalem Most people would not think that the discovery of a small piece of silver rolled up with
text inscribed therein would perhaps be an important find. According to Barkay, however, such items are not found often, if at all, when speaking of ancient Jerusalem and the Divine
Name. Apparently Jerusalem has been destroyed, and inhabited to the point where any ancient finds are very rare. As such this particular find seems very important. Another aspect of
the importance of this text seems related to the fact that it likely dates from a time after the true or ultimate destruction of Jerusalem for the Jewish people. The
author notes that such a find indicates that there was still a great deal of worship that took place for the Jews as it involved going to the city of
Jerusalem after the fall. This perspective, coupled with the fact that there was text which indicated a prayer or religious text on one piece of silver, indicates a powerful connection
