the idea that experience is something that can help one to create a skill, and that without experience, there is only the chance of being correct or successful. A student
writing on this subject might want to agree with this point. Here, Plato is saying that experience is something that helps one hone skill, and without skill, life can be
rather haphazard or related to luck. In other words, an actor might work for many years, become very skilled, and get a lot of offers for work. However, a young
man who has hardly any experience might get lucky and get a part, but that is just by chance. They have not earned the part nor are they definitely equipped
to do well. The idea that experience is important is found in various parts of the book. One may look at the concept from different points of view. While there
is much banter about the idea of skill, the discussion turns to more philosophical concepts about will and power. In effect, the concepts discussed such as skill and chance, and
whether or not one has power or not, is important in daily life. The book takes on a life of its own as various experiences are provided by Socrates and
the others. In some way, the work examines the idea of power. After all, if someone is honing a skill, it is to have more power or control over his
life. If he relinquishes the power, or has never had it from the start, and he is relying on luck or good fortune. In some way, Socrates suggests that
