In the current world of international relations the main players of the international society are now not only countries. Other players like transnational companies, terrorism, and international organizations, collectively known as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) have had an influence which is greater when it comes to dealing with international affairs. This 8 page paper looks at why and how these organizations have an influence and the way a new layout of international relations or toward the minimization of the role of the countries in the geopolitical world. ranges from terrorist organisation seeking to enforce values and ideals to commercial and charitable organisations which have the aim of helping. In civilised society there are many different social
interest groups, that may consist of a large number of citizens not only of one but of many countries. Governments may have a limited remit, the role of the non
government organisations (NGOs) can be to supplement as well as challenge government and can have an important role in a comprehensive form of global governance and social provisions (Teegan, 2004).
The difficulty is on assessing how the influence of NGOs can be utilised and maximised in the positive aspects whilst reducing the negative or destructive elements. To appreciate this
we need to consider the types of NGOs and their interests. The participants will come from at least two, but often more
states, and are usually volunteers. The volunteers work for, or on behalf of, the NGO as they share the ideals of the NGO and want to promote their adoption and
implementation at different levels within the states where they are active. These international organisations may be seen as different from intergovernmental organisations (IGOs), where the members are the states themselves.
The initial difficulty with this, in societies where the majority paradigm is that of democracy, is the lack of democratic processes in many of these organisations, even though there are
