which Dell and Apple interact with their customers and business partners via their Internet presence. Discussion The first thing a visitor to these sites notices is that Dell is very "busy." An ad for their products changes every few seconds. They also advertise "more bang, less bucks," which should be (if we want to use proper English) "more bang, fewer bucks"-a basic usage error which will probably go unnoticed by most of todays buyers, but will make those who do catch it wonder what else Dell is doing wrong. Its never a good idea to have such a basic error on a website. Dell also uses the word "you" as much as possible. One of the ads says "yours is here"; another says "revolutionize the way you work"; while a third displays the slogan "everything you want." The overwhelming impression is that Dell has exactly the right computer for the person visiting the site. Its also apparently dedicated to selling directly to individuals, as indicated by the way its set up. Each type of component is listed: the main categories are "Notebooks," "Desktops and All-in-One," "Servers, Storage and Networking," "Printers, Ink and Toner," "TVs, Software and Accessories," and "Support and Help." Rolling over these main headings brings up a drop-down menu that goes into further detail. For instance, under "Notebooks," the choices are "Home & Home Office," "Small and Medium Business," "Large Business," and "Government, Education, Health Care & Life Sciences." The obvious implication is that Dell has a computer or system that can be tailored to meet the customers exact specifications (which of course is how Michael Dell built the business).
