it is an island nation, one of the key areas of Filipino culture and history has to do with the sea; one source refers to the Filipinos as the "People

Filipinos used a compass similar to those used by the Chinese, most didnt need any mechanical device to help them sail; many of todays Filipino fisherman and traders "in the
