known as the "I-5 Strangler." Roger Kibbe committed his crimes with a deliberate intent to avoid detection and be able to even expand on his horrific acts. The story is
all the more remarkable because Kibbe was able to fool just a bout everybody, including his brother who happened to be a homicide detective. As Henderson outlines Kibbes actions, the
reader becomes increasingly aware of, to use an old-fashioned word, just how "diabolic" the killer was. Ultimately, Kibbe was convicted in 1991 on evidence that was based on finding microscopic
fibers and paint chips -- "trace evidence" -- which linked him to his numerous victims. Beginning in 1985 In many ways, the story of tracking down Roger Kibbe reads like
a thriller-chiller novel or an episode from "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Even from the first chapter, when the reader is introduced to the hapless 19 year-old Stephanie Marcia Brown who
is startled awake in the middle of the night, the story pulls at the reader. It is clear from how Henderson begins that the book is going to be the
proverbial "page-turner." Poor Stephanie Brown was only doing her roommate a favor when she went out late at night to rescue her from a broken down car in downtown Sacramento,
California, but who was "only 15 minutes away" (pp. 9). She picked up her friend, got her and her boyfriend to his apartment and headed back home via Interstate 5.
She made a crucial mistake and ended up heading south rather than north . . . and disappeared. Her body was eventually found floating in the water of an irrigation
trench off a desolate section of I-5. She had been strangled to death. The details Henderson offers are all the more chilling in that they dont seem to make
