does appear to be something workable. That is, the acquisition can be good for Bank of America as it propels BOA to a higher status. Countrywide can aid the growth
of Bank of America as long as there is responsible actions taken and caution in terms of shaky markets. It seems as if Bank of America is cognizant of the
problems at hand, and the risk it faces in the future. Bank of America has always been an industry leader and has climbed to an excellent competitive position in the
banking industry. The acquisition will make it that much larger and provide it with greater potential. Not only that, but the deal has rendered positive publicity for Bank of America
as it rescues a failing company. While there is much optimism in the air in regard to this business deal, there is admittedly a great deal of risk. Bank of
America should be watched carefully to see if the company makes any more moves and what it does with Countrywide. How the acquisition is handled will mean success or failure
for Bank of America. By now, most everyone knows about the Countrywide mortgage debacle
that is tied to the sub prime market that some claim is responsible for the bad economy. At least, some claim that in part, this sector is indicative of the
poor economy, no matter what really is to blame for the sour market. Yet, it is also known that Bank of America purchased Countrywide, and while that put an optimistic
