THE CONSTRUCTIVIST LEARNING THEORY As always, the field of education undergoes many changes and there are always certain current ideologies and methods that are embraced as being the latest and best technique for teaching. While these new methods many times take a while to actually catch on, once they do they are usually taught with an excited fervor, as it is felt that the latest way is the best. The field of education has seen the theories of many different psychologists being taught, most notably those theories being behaviorism and cognitive therapy (Applefield, Huber et al, 35). However, constructivism as a theory has been embraced for several years and while there is some enthusiasm about the method, many are not understanding it properly and are therefore not getting the full educational impact of what this type training is able to do.
