state interest, which presented a unique situation (Greenhouse, 2005). When it comes to the issues of abortion, he is quite practical in the application of the law. Stevens is presently
a senior member of the court and so, to an extent, controls the assigning of opinions ("John Paul Stevens," 2006). He was born in 1920 and raised in a
