on a test in college may be equated with looking at notes on ones own lap, looking at anothers paper, or actually having someone else take the exam for the
student. This latter example is only possible in a very large class where the professors do not now who the students are. Other ways to cheat may be to have
notes texted to the exam taker or texting from one student to another during an exam. While it is true that conditions are such that cheating is difficult, it can
be done. Sometimes, a student leaves the room to use the bathroom. While a proctor may accompany the student to the facilities, while inside the bathroom stall, notes can be
taken out of a pocket or a text may be accomplished there. Whenever someone uses means outside of the rules that the institution has created, he or she is cheating.
First, the actual consequences of cheating on college exams can range from being denied the right to continue education to being stigmatized as a cheater. Even if a student
cheats, is caught, and then given another chance, he or she is viewed in a negative light by his or her professors. This is detrimental to the continuance of the
individuals college career and can jeopardize future endeavors. For example, if an individual is on a certain career path, he or she can bet that they will not be able
to get recommendations from their professors. If caught cheating in one class, for example, the other professors will know and perhaps grade that students papers diligently. Not being given the
benefit of the doubt, the students actions follows him through the end of his stint at college. It could result in lower grades in other classes because the professors will
