and Tibet are seemingly constantly at odds with one another. This conflict is actually a very long one and one that involves many issues. And, as most people are aware,
they are ultimately very different entities. The following paper examines the conflict between China and Tibet. The Conflict Between China and Tibet As mentioned, many people are aware
that there has been a great deal of conflict between the two entities in the past few years. But, in truth their conflict goes quite a ways back in history.
This is evident in the following: "While China claims that Tibet has always been a part of China, Tibet has a history of at least 1300 years of independence from
China. In 821 China and Tibet ended almost 200 years of fighting with a treaty...The treaty reads in part: Both Tibet and China shall keep the country and frontiers of
which they are now possessed" (Friends of Tibet, 2009). It seems that according to the treaty the lands that lay to the
East are those that belong to China while the areas to the West are considered to be the country of Tibet (Friends of Tibet, 2009). Clearly there are some issues
as the conflict between the two has been going on perhaps since the treaty was first agreed upon. One of the conflicts that altered this treaty, or how the nations
were seen, took place "during the 13th and 14th centuries" when China and Tibet were greatly influenced by the empire of the Monguls (Friends of Tibet, 2009). According to China
