Yes, there have been Cola wars, and Pepsi is its primary competitor, but in the end, the Coca Cola company shines. It has been reported that Coca Cola is the industry beverage leader and in 2003 for example its revenues had increased by 7.6% ("Company Spotlight," 2005, p.22) over the previous year. Of course, this is not necessarily the case as it respects 2005 or 2006. Steiner (2005) reports that "while Coke hadnt reported its first period at press time, analysts expect negative 6.5% earnings and a teeny 1.9% revenue advance" (p.140). The news about Coke has not always been excellent, particularly in very recent times, but certainly this is a company for which investors are proud to own. Like any well known company like Sears or IBM which represent America and its excellence in competition throughout the twentieth century, Coca Cola is one investment that will likely do well. First, a look at the details of this firm, its advertising, its financials, and its vision are things which are important when conducting an analysis on this well known firm. First and foremost, Coke has brand strength ("Coca Cola Company SWOT analysis," 2005). The brand also has staying power. It is something that has been sold since 1886 ("Coca Cola Company SWOT analysis," 2005). With revenues still going strong, to be able to survive and thrive under steep competition says something about the product. Indeed, Coke and its other line of soft drinks do well.
