spirituality were obviously elements which caught the attention and praise of the common individual as well as the powerful individual. She was seen as a savior of sorts, both to
the people and the powerful. Yet, it seemed that when her tasks were completed she was tossed away and killed. After her death, however, she was canonized and seen as
a saint and savior. In the following paper we argue that she was killed, and allowed to be killed, due to the fact that she was no longer useful and
that her presence was a threat not only to the king but to the Church. It was only after her death, when she no longer posed a threat and when
historians and religious leaders could look at her character and her involvement without any bias, that she was seen for the saint that she appeared to be. Joan
of Arc Joan was something of a primitive woman in many respects. She came from a region where paganism was incredibly powerful and she lived in a time when Christianity
was not the powerful religion that it would be. In fact, it is often cited that she was not unfamiliar with fairies, an element that spoke of witchcraft at the
time. She and her family knew fairies, or so it was claimed, and her people, a rural people, were not convinced of Christianity. This was not uncommon in the
time period for many outlying regions still possessed very strong paganistic beliefs. And, it was through these that much of her power seemed to originate. But, at the same time
