the coolest thing about it is that Wrigley Field is located there (Lakeview & Wrigleyville). Another interesting aspect of the neighborhood is that just a few steps away from the
main shopping/dining area are "beautifully maintained tree-lined streets, with rows of lovely houses in all manner of architectural styles, ranging in age from near-century-old to 3 days ago" (Lakeview &
Wrigleyville, 2006). The area, in other words, has an eclectic mix of architectural styles and a highly diverse population. Clark Street is a heavily traveled, highly commercial thoroughfare, and the
mall fronts on it. The fa?ade of the building is actually an old movie theater-in fact, the entire mall is housed in the theater, which was gutted and renovated to
house shops and restaurants, as well as a new movie house, Landmark Theatres (Clark Street Development, 2006). Tenants include Ballys Fitness, Victorias Secret and The Limited, among others (Clark Street
Development, 2006). The building is described as a "vertical mall," meaning of course that it goes upward, not outward; it is seven stories tall but only as wide as the
original theater. The interior of the mall is multi-level, with escalators and elevators "hanging" in space, certainly designed to induce vertigo in anyone who dares to look over the
side. The open plan gives a feeling of great space to what is actually a relatively small building, when compared to malls like Woodfield, which is located in Schaumburg, for
