population of children requiring services and the need to identify the best methods of support to enhance their educational opportunities. Parents of children with learning disaiblites face many challenges, both
at home and in the educational setting, that are a result of the presence of an LD designatin. Parents must be aware of the many different types of learning
disabilities and their impacts on the development of programming. Objective The objective of this professional presentation is to provide parents with valuable information about the nature, breadth and
scope of learning disabilities, their impact on learning environments, and the best approaches for addressing the needs of LD children. This presentation is designed to address the major concerns
of parents, and so a discussion segment, in which the parents can ask questions and identify potential limitations of the presentation, will follow the presentation. This will expand the learning
opportunities for parents and enhance their ability to understand the LD designation for their individual child. This presentation is also designed to improve the function of parents in educational
settings, to demonstrate that educatorse and parentse are "on the same team" and that it is likely that they both want the same thing for the LD learner. As a
