a voluntary organisation which has the remit of providing practical support including the use of a support worker as well as advice. The area of support given includes employment and
social activity support, life skills, help with respite care and holidays. In undertaking its remit the organisation works with other agencies including social services. The primary service user in
the case supplied is Miss A, a 40-year-old female with mild to moderate learning difficulties. Miss A lives at home with her aging father (her mother died two years ago),
she has two sisters who live away from home. It is also reported that Miss A has some compulsive behaviour issues, this is not particularly unusual in an individual
with learning difficulties (Prior, 1996). Currently Miss A attends a day centre 5 days a week. The current situation of Miss A requires some level of intervention. The collage
requires a form signed by Miss As social worker before they will get funding for her place, but they have not yet received the signed form as the social worker
has not yet completed it. Miss As father is finding looking after Miss A a strain as he does most of the housework and laundry. Miss A is unable
to do much housework, does not eat meals with him and goes to bed very late due to eating her meals late and is upsetting her father by sometimes walking
around the house with only a few clothes on. Talking to Miss A she appears to be willing and eager to move out of her fathers home and become
more independent. It is apparent that there was a need for some intervention here in the interests of Miss A and her father. The intervention strategy was based on
