sexual relationship is something that has been a hot button issue. The idea is that if two people love each other, no matter what gender they are, they should be
allowed to marry. It is argued that many gay and lesbian couples exist already and that they raise families. They should be able to make it legal because their current
status does not allow for easy child custody decisions or spouse status when the significant other is in the hospital or dies. Significant others who are not married generally do
not get health insurance either, and these families believe they have the right to these things and legal marriage would render this possible. The other side of the coin
suggests that even though same sex couples exist, that does not make it morally right. Rather, these relationships impede societys efforts for a strong moral base. Homosexuality not only goes
against almost all religions, it is something that spreads disease. Although it is true that AIDS now knows no bounds, AIDS is primarily transmitted through "anal sex between
men" (Rollins 161). Aside from that, marriage is an institution that has traditionally been between a man and a woman, despite the fact that historically, men have had sex
with men and women with women. Sexuality is really a separate issue. Sex can occur between people of the same genders, but that does not mean it should be a
lifestyle. The same argument can be waged about brothers and sisters or cousins. There are laws against incest because it goes against the moral grain. Similarly, laws against gay marriage
