beginning of Congress spending spree with future generations money. A meeting dubbed the "Orange Tax Revolt" in Hillsborough, North Carolina - one of many being held throughout the country
- is the visible result of growing resistance to increasing already-high local taxes as the federal government continues to promise more and higher taxes for every productive citizen in the
country. Illustrating the Boston Tea Partys iconic status in American history, Orange County citizens are likening the local efforts to the Boston Tea Party (Martinez, 2009). 1. Evaluate how the
event impacted the development of the United States - government, society, economy, beliefs, etc. The structure of the governments of the US
and the UK are similar. Even though Britain retains its monarchy, its government is in the form of a constitutional monarchy. Today both countries operate with a bicameral
legislative body; an executive branch; and a judicial branch of government. Britain came to that change later than did the US, however.
A telling difference in the cultural worldview of each entity at the time of the Boston Tea Party can be seen in the reactions on each side of the Atlantic.
