Western thought has been: How can Gods justice be defended in the face of evil and human suffering? And, more specifically, how can it be defended in the face of
innocent humans suffering (The NIV Study Bible 723). There is a great deal written about Job because its original style and linguistics made it a difficult story to translate (The
NIV Study Bible 723). There have been many opinions about the story and whether or not Job was a real man or if this is a parable to teach lessons
about adversity and Gods power and justice. But, it doesnt matter if it is a parable and it is a waste of time to even discuss that issue when one
is in search of greater knowledge and wisdom and when one wants to strengthen their relationship with God. In fact, the Book of Job is part of the Wisdom Literature
of the Old Testament. That category in itself tells us that we are to gain awareness and wisdom from the story. The message is faith, no matter what happens. The
Book of Job clearly points out a relationship with God is hindered by evil. One of the themes in this book is that all that happens is not simply between
God and man. There is another party - Satan. The Book of Job presents a war between God and Satan. God uses Job as an example of a truly righteous
person, one who believes completely in God whether lifes events are joyful or cruel. The major point of this book is that God is in charge of this world and
we all need to be like Job and place our faith and trust in God. When faced with great adversity, we have choices to make. We can
