protection many people are confused. The following paper examines the benefits of sunblock, discussing how it works and also the difference between SPF 15 and 30. The Benefits
of Sunblock One author notes that, "Using sunscreen is an effective way to protect your skin from the suns damaging UV rays. However,...sunscreen cannot block all UV rays and many
people do not apply it correctly" (Go Sun Smart, 2008). In essence, many people just kind of lightly put the lotion on in some parts and then forget the rest.
But, it is important that all exposed areas of the body, even lips, often be protected when spending any length of time in the sun.
In terms of what sunblock, or sunscreen, is it is normally a lotion that has been formulated to include "chemical components to absorb UV light. When sunscreen is
applied to the skin, the chemical molecules form an invisible, protective layer on the skin that protects from penetrating UV rays" (Go Sun Smart, 2008). Apparently all sunscreen products will
protect someone from UVB rays, rays that affect the top layer of a persons skin and result in burning (Go Sun Smart, 2008). Broad Spectrum sunscreens are the type that
protect from UVB as well as UVA rays, the rays that involve the deeper layers of skin and add to the signs of aging (Go Sun Smart, 2008).
