image is one that has created a desire in most individuals to avoid conflict, perceiving it as harmful, creating unnecessary hardship or stress. However, conflict is not always negative, in
many situations, especially within the commercial environment conflict can be healthy. In a commercial arena conflict can add value and increase productivity when managed correctly. This is true at
macro and micro levels. The term conflict means that there will be disagreements, and that these disagreements may be severe. However, to have a disagreement by definition there must be
different opinions being presented, otherwise there would be nothing to disagree about. Looking at any commercial process, this may result in damage, but according to basic transformation models, the output
of any model will be a direct reflection of the inputs. This means that there is an increased level of input that may serve several roles, either the stimulation of
thought and analysis which may result better business decisions being made, either due to the different inputs or as a result of the analysis. Even where the conflict does not
create a change decision it may create a better understanding of that decision and as such a better ability to adapt and meet commercial demands as they change. In
looking at conflict in terms of a team there are several issues that need to be considered. We need to remember that within literature there will be some that believe
that team work is best, where there needs to be consensus rather than conflict, and that group decisions may be seen as superior as they are more creative and
able to consider a wider range of issues and be more inspiring to the employees. Others see this differently, although
