This 4 page paper examines the urban regeneration project that took place in London and created a newly named area in old Peckham. The paper looks at the outputs of the project which included cleaning up and restoring building to the placement of street art in the form of street furniture. this project have been mixed, many are positive and very visual but others are negative (Conn, 2005). The first main output has to be the creation of an identity to
the area, this was once just a run down part of Peckham that was on the way to Dulwich (Middleton. 2002). It was a clear geographical within Peckham, but
did not have a name, now the area has a name and with it a local identify (Conn, 2005, Middleton. 2002). In addition to this the image of the area
and also Peckham and Southwark has improved (Conn, 2005). If we look at the outputs the first consideration has to be the visual outputs. At a cost of about
?1.8 million a year there was a highly visual output that including the repairing of damaged brickwork on the Victorian building (mostly houses and shops), repairing broken walls, and the
general cleaning up of whole streets at a time which also included renewing pavements and paths (Conn, 2005, Middleton. 2002). The beneficiaries were not only council tenant, owner occupiers revived
75% of the work, and the average cost per house was ?20,000 (Middleton, 2002). The result of this regeneration was increasing house prices. But, another output may be see
as having a direct impact on this; the addition of this (Tait, 2003, Middleton, 2002). The choice of combining street art with street furniture from local arties may have been
controversial, but has seen a high increase in the desirability of the area (Middleton, 2002). This output is a partnership between the local residents, government, and local artists along with
