of the network which meets the needs of the company in an effective manner can help improve efficiency and support the company. In addition to supporting the current activities network

Functionality is one part of the design of the network, there will be numerous constraints which will have to be balanced with the design features. Issues such as cost,
potential obsolescence, security and access are also important features in the design of the network. In this paper we will consider the position of a fictitious company; Bead Bar, using
this information to design a suitable network. The paper will begin with some background on the company and its information technology needs, consideration of how a network will help the
company, and will then move to a discussion on the most suitable topology and supporting architecture along with the associated advantages and disadvantages before ending with a conclusion. 2. Background
Bead Bar is a company selling beading supplies to a range of customers. There are three main departments within the company; studios, the franchises
and Bead Bar on Board. Operations are spread over a wide geographical area from Boston, Massachusetts to Washington, DC and Island. In addition to this Bead Bar on Board is
