tool that has a protective as well as an offensive role. Where force is only used where intellect and strategy indicates it is necessary. The role is not to fight,
but to keep the peace. In considering the message, the content and meaning may be considered from the perspective of four different figures that may all be interpreted as having
a different perspective on the words. These are Pericles, The Old Oligarch Job, and Euripides. It will be seen that Pericles fits
in with a more traditional vision of a hero. He is involved in a war and seen as a charismatic and good leader. When the Spartans tried to manipulate the
Athenians and turn them against their leader, Pericles they failed in, so we see the respect that Pericles had from the Athenians. It may be argued that it is this
type of respect that General Senecki, himself is aiming to achieve. However, from the perspective of Pericles it is the use of intellect
that is just as important as that of force, as seen when he saves many lives by using his influence and persuasion skills. The walls of Athens are impregnable, but
many people live outside these walls, so he gathers them in. They were not keen to leave their homes, but due to his leadership he persuades them that it is
the right thing to do, and in doing so saves many lives. In the statement there is an indication that the US has a responsibility to others and to maintain
world peace, this would be supported by Pericles and the role of protector to those that are weaker would be taken seriously. However, this is a man who is also
