The best leader is not the leader who has the most rules to rigidly apply to the most anticipated contexts, but the leader who has the innate qualities that grant
him or her the capacity to succeed regardless of what context they find themselves in. In order to attain this flexibility, one must learn about leadership not just in a
rote fashion, but in a manner that reveals the core qualities that drive the discipline. As such, it pays to think about leadership in a way that allows one to
see the leadership qualities inherent in figures who might not traditionally be thought of as leaders. Of course, its easy to take business advice from Warren Buffett or Bill Gates,
but in order to gain the most thorough understanding of leadership, one should recognize the lessons to be taken from more purely philosophical figures, such as the Apostle Paul. This
is the subject of John MacArthurs text, "The Book on Leadership". Published in 2004, MacArthur invokes the narrative of the Apostle Paul in the days following the death of Jesus
Christ as he is taken prisoner by the Jews and subjected to harassment and abuses while preaching to the Corinthians. Then, through insightful analysis, Pauls innate capacity for leadership is
succinctly revealed and explicated. This paper will explore the role of Paul in the text, and from it derive critical understandings about important leadership qualities. This paragraph helps the student
