her tea keep. Indeed, it was a glass cup and tea was a brilliant color for chamomile, she thought to herself. She sighed. Her seventy one years had looked like
ninety. Her hair had thinned in part due to age, and in part due to her thyroid problem. She didnt know, couldnt remember, if she had an under active or
overactive thyroid. She kept the Levoxyl on the shelf away from the other medications so she would not take too much by accident. She did that only once. After
stirring her tea some more, she picked the glass up with both hands, placed it on a tray table next to what she called her Archie Bunker chair, and grabbed
the remote control. It would be Court TV today as there was that Neulander trial on. She put her feet on top of the aging ottoman and just at that
moment, as if it were a synchronized event, there was a faint knock at the door. Buffy, the little white dog that was supposedly half Westie, perked up, his ears
curiously erect. The old woman sighed, slowly arose, grabbed her cane, knocked over the paper cup holding her tea bag, startled the dog, and then headed for the door. She
waddled. Her granddaughter who she rarely sees, Allison, laughs and calls her a duck. Veronica takes such criticism with grace. She ages gracefully too, though not well. Her red hands,
indicative of either too much washing or arthritis--her doctor doesnt even know--opens the door. She doesnt bother to ask who is on the other side. She is after all from
Covert, New York. There is no one nearby. There is little chance of a confrontation. Veronica is so lonely, and so old, and so depressed, she really does not
