outdoor areas can be preserved for many years to come, sometimes buildings become dangerous and demolition is planned. Sometimes buildings are simply seen as not useful any longer or the
people lose interest in them. In respect to the rich history of Los Angeles, the fate of the Ambassador Hotel is at issue. It is a hotel that has had
a rich history where many stars visited and it is also a place of historic significance. Robert F. Kennedy, the important politician who was a part of the John, Robert
and Martin trio who were killed during the height of the civil rights era, was shot in the Ambassador Hotel. While a chilling reminder of the past, it is also
something that can be seen as relevant. The building is important. Aside from the Ambassador being important for that reason, the hotel was in its hey day something to enjoy.
Many people, and particularly well known stars, not only stayed there when they needed a room, but also partied in the midst of its Coconut Grove lounge. In fact, the
night club had become a very popular spot in the L.A. area. Today, the hotel is no longer in use, but is the subject
of controversy. There are those who want to use the site for some other purposes. After all, the hotel is just standing there doing nothing. There has even
been an attempt to save the Ambassadors Hotel main building ("Los Angeles Conservancy," 2004). There were actually lawsuits filed by a variety of special interest groups and it has been
